Overview
This opportunity is for a Lead Business Analyst Specialist based in Kochi, Kerala. The role demands close collaboration with clients to translate their business needs into effective digital commerce solutions. Serving as a techno-functional bridge, the analyst will independently manage stakeholder alignment, define detailed requirements, and enable product delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering activities for designated eCommerce domains through client workshops, stakeholder interviews, and feedback sessions.
- Analyze existing business processes and partner with clients and delivery teams to design optimized future business and system requirements.
- Develop and maintain epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, workflows, and decision logs to guide development efforts.
- Ensure backlog items for upcoming Agile sprints are well prepared by coordinating refinement sessions, identifying dependencies, and clarifying queries.
- Act as a liaison among client product owners, subject matter experts, UX/UI designers, architects, developers, quality assurance, and project managers.
- Recommend practical solution options that balance business value, user experience, feasibility, and project complexity.
- Ensure continuous alignment of requirements and designs throughout change management, implementation, testing, and deployment phases.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) planning, review test scenarios, assist defect triage, and facilitate business readiness.
- Provide inputs for product roadmaps, release scopes, and continuous improvement initiatives informed by client goals and market insights.
- Mentor junior business analysts on best practices in requirements articulation, stakeholder communication, and Agile methodologies.
- Work autonomously in a client-facing consultancy capacity, managing medium complexity commerce workstreams and proactively addressing risks.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all involved stakeholders and internal teams.
- Exhibit strong analytical skills, focus on desired outcomes, and take ownership of deliverables.
- Challenge prioritization decisions constructively to enhance backlog value.
Required Technical Knowledge and Skills
- In-depth understanding of digital commerce capabilities including product search, detail pages, cart, checkout, payment, promotions, inventory, and order tracking.
- Ability to map customer journeys and identify gaps across B2B/B2C commerce, marketplace, omnichannel, and customer-service commerce.
- Familiarity with commerce platform concepts like product catalogs, pricing, campaigns, merchandising, content management, customer accounts, and system integrations.
- Competency coordinating with product owners, UX designers, architects, and developers to translate business objectives into implementation-ready user stories.
- Knowledge of APIs, event-driven integrations, data flow, and non-functional requirements pertinent to commerce systems.
- Capability to independently manage a commerce feature area such as promotions, product discovery, checkout, or order management.
Professional and Technical Expertise
- Business analysis and requirements elicitation for digital products, especially commerce platforms.
- Advanced skills in user story creation, acceptance criteria definition, and backlog management.
- Proficient with Jira and Confluence for backlog management and documentation.
- Workshop facilitation, stakeholder interviewing, process mapping, story mapping, and customer journey analysis.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery practices across project phases including discovery, construction, and release.
- Familiarity with CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) processes, pricing strategies, regional taxation, and integration with price engines.
- Experience with commerce platforms such as SAP Commerce (Hybris), Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce (Magento), or similar solutions.
- Exposure to ancillary platforms such as search engines, merchandising tools, CMS, customer data platforms, web analytics, payment gateways, order management systems, and customer service tools.
- Relevant certifications including PSPO I & II, CBAP, Agile Business Analyst, or Scrum Master credentials.
- Knowledge of emerging technology trends like headless commerce, composable commerce, microservices, event-driven integrations, and cloud-native deployment.
- Familiarity with DevOps collaboration, version control, deployment pipelines, and automation.
Experience and Qualifications
Graduates with 5–8 years of relevant experience in business analysis within eCommerce or digital commerce domains are encouraged to apply.
