Role overview
This position sits within the housekeeping and laundry function at a Marriott property in Accra, Ghana. It is a full-time, non-management role focused on keeping laundry operations running smoothly and supporting the hotel’s cleanliness and presentation standards.
What you will do
- Run and oversee washing, drying, and dry-cleaning equipment, including adding the right chemicals and clearing lint from traps.
- Check garments and linen for stains or damage and decide whether each item should be repaired, spot-treated, washed again, or removed from circulation.
- Review items after washing, drying, or dry cleaning to confirm cleanliness before placing them into clean linen carts.
- Adjust dryer settings such as time and temperature according to the fabric mix in each load.
- Clear lint, residue, and debris from dryer screens, dry-cleaning filters, and drain traps after every load.
- Neatly fold cleaned items by hand or with a folding machine into the correct size and format.
- Keep accurate documentation of laundry processed and items handled.

- Maintain a professional appearance, safeguard confidential information, and protect company property.

- Meet quality standards and look for practical ways to improve efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost control.
- Inspect equipment and tools visually to identify defects or issues.
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or across an entire shift.
- Handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds without help.
- Work in narrow, confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, or stair-based service areas.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping as needed.
- Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Preferred profile
No high school diploma or GED is required. The role does not call for prior related experience, supervisory background, or any license or certification.
