Job description

Role overview

This position supports the hotel’s housekeeping and laundry operations by keeping linens, garments, and fabric items clean, well-finished, and ready for use. The role also helps maintain service standards across guest rooms, staff areas, banquet functions, and recreation spaces.

Key duties

  • Work a flexible schedule when needed, including weekends, holidays, and changing shifts, to support business demands.
  • Keep daily work areas aligned with the property’s quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Follow house rules, safety practices, housekeeping procedures, and security requirements at all times.
  • Coordinate with managers and supervisors and respond to requests as quickly as possible.
  • Select and use cleaning chemicals correctly in line with OSHA rules and hotel standards.
  • Use the required personal protective equipment according to hotel policy and procedure.
  • Sort, pre-treat, wash, dry, iron, and fold linens.
  • Check linens for stains or damage and reject or reclaim items when necessary.
  • Repair linens by mending and sewing when needed.
  • Prepare and deliver linen supplies for banquet and restaurant needs.
  • Provide guest-room service supplies to guest rooms.
  • Handle items sent for contract cleaning.
  • Replenish housekeeping carts and storage closets.
  • Supply towels to recreation areas.
  • Operate laundry and dry-cleaning equipment to process bed linens, terry items, and table linens in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Clean, press, and finish staff clothing, guest garments, and designated guest-room fabrics and other articles.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly with guests, supervisors, management, and colleagues in a way they can understand.
  • Knowledge of laundry and dry-cleaning machines, along with safe chemical handling practices.
  • Familiarity with finishing methods for different fabric types.
  • English/Spanish bilingual ability is an added advantage.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
