Role Overview
The Laundry Ambassador will handle guest laundry operations with professionalism, accuracy, and care. The position involves coordinating daily laundry activities, tracking guest and uniform items, managing charges, supporting delivery processes, and maintaining a clean, orderly, and efficient laundry area.
Key Duties
- Deliver courteous and professional service throughout all interactions.
- Organize daily work schedules for laundry team members.
- Receive, count, sort, and inspect guest garments and uniforms for dry cleaning, washing, and pressing, checking accompanying lists and identifying stains, defects, and damage.
- Flag delicate items that require special handling and escalate them to the supervisor.
- Label items using room or uniform numbers to ensure proper tracking and processing.
- Calculate guest laundry charges, prepare the related vouchers, and forward them to the Front Office cashiers.
- Support the valet runner in delivering finished laundry to guest rooms when required.
- Answer incoming telephone calls related to the laundry department.
- Keep sufficient office supplies on hand and raise requests for chemicals and cleaning equipment as needed.
- Update the laundry manager and team leaders on guest instructions, service requests, and complaints.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other departments.
- Keep the equipment and work area clean, orderly, and properly maintained at all times.
- Ensure laundry machinery remains clean and the laundry department stays organized.
- Review the logbook daily.
- Stay knowledgeable about all food and beverage offerings, hotel outlets, and property services and facilities.
- Follow all hotel fire, life-safety, and emergency procedures.
- Attend briefings, meetings, and training sessions as directed by management.
- Report to duty punctually in a clean and complete uniform.
- Maintain a high standard of personal grooming and hygiene.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks assigned by hotel management.
Working Environment
The role is based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and is an onsite, full-time position. The workplace culture supports diversity, inclusion, and teamwork.
