Compensation

The posted pay range is USD 15.70 to 17.50 per hour. Key duties

  • Carry out verbal and written directions accurately.
  • Work in line with MSDS guidance and other safety procedures.
  • Follow the laundry department schedule and workflow.
  • Set and adjust water temperatures as needed for proper washing.
  • Manage clean and soiled linens separately and appropriately.
  • Flag damaged garments or linens and report them to a supervisor.
  • Gather dirty laundry from assigned areas.
  • Sort linens and clothing and ensure each load is processed on the correct cycle.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions by following cleaning and infection-control practices.
  • Deliver fresh laundry and residents’ personal clothing neatly and on time.
  • Keep equipment, carts, and workspaces clean and organized.
  • Follow FutureCare’s ethics and corporate compliance standards.

Qualifications and work expectations

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1 year of housekeeping experience in a long-term care environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of laundry systems important to safety and resident welfare is needed.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand both spoken and written instructions.
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift at least 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds with assistance, including carts, laundry bags, and linens.
  • The job involves strenuous pulling when unloading washers and dryers, as well as repetitive motion.
  • Wearing a safety belt may be necessary.
