About the Role

This full-time position offers both day and night shifts with a starting wage of $13.65 per hour, paid weekly.

Key Responsibilities
- Fold and arrange clothing items properly
- Hang clothes on racks sorted by names and numbers
- Ensure patients’ garments are ready to wear and damaged items are flagged appropriately
- Understand and apply proper usage of various cleaning agents such as soaps and bleaches, following all safety guidelines including MSDS labels
- Operate laundry machines for washing and drying clothes and linens
- Keep laundry equipment clean according to scheduled maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry workspace by sweeping and mopping floors
- Empty washers and dryers when required
- Clean and disinfect linen carts as needed
- Perform stain treatment on garments
- Demonstrate leadership by promoting a positive image of the health system, engaging in clear communication, and contributing to collaborative projects and committees
- Carry out any other duties necessary for the overall success of the facility
Skills and Abilities
- Effective communication skills to interact warmly and professionally with coworkers, patients, families, and visitors, addressing concerns empathetically and answering questions appropriately
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Supervisory Role
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Language and Mathematical Skills
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, operational instructions, and procedure manuals
- Capability to produce routine reports and correspondence
- Effective oral communication in group settings
- Mathematical competence including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
Reasoning and Problem-Solving
Apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram formats. Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables under standardized conditions.
Computer Skills
Proficiency required in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word for basic job functions.
Physical Requirements
The role involves regular sitting, talking, hearing, frequent walking, manual handling, and occasional standing. Visual abilities including close and distance vision with focus adjustment are necessary. Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities.
