About the Role
The Trust & Safety team at Google is dedicated to tackling critical challenges related to user safety and the integrity of Google products such as Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. The team combines technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, user insight, and proactive communication to safeguard users and partners from abuse. As a Launch Manager within the Operational Excellence (OpsEx) team, you will oversee the deployment of AI-powered app review agents across various Trust & Safety domains. You will act as the primary coordinator for cross-functional teams, managing projects through a detailed multi-phase launch playbook—from prompt engineering and tuning to deployment and post-launch oversight.
Your role involves being a diligent project manager who removes obstacles efficiently, ensuring all launch milestones are achieved on schedule without compromising the quality and operational standards of AI tools. This position is integral to Google’s mission of maintaining high trust and safety standards for all users globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and lead cross-team meetings involving Product Management, Engineering, Policy, and Operations to track deliverables and adhere to launch schedules.
- Proactively detect and resolve challenges impeding classifier deployments to ensure timely releases.
- Ensure thorough completion of all launch prerequisites, including policy document approvals, Steering Committee reviews, and launch documentation sign-offs before production deployment.
- Collaborate closely with Program Managers to synchronize launch timelines with overall program objectives, key results, and executive reporting requirements.
- Own the ongoing maintenance and monitoring of systems post-launch to maintain operational excellence.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent practical background.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in areas such as data analytics, trust and safety, policy enforcement, cybersecurity, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years experience implementing automation solutions.
- At least 3 years practicing process improvement techniques like Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Prior experience collaborating with globally distributed teams.
- Background in content policy, anti-abuse efforts, and online content review processes.
- Proficiency in SQL, data dashboard design, data transformation, visualization tools, or scripting/programming languages such as Python.
- Strong cross-functional teamwork skills, emphasizing knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, with skill in influencing at various organizational levels.
