About the Role
Electronic Arts (EA) offers an exciting opportunity as a Language Operations Lead on a 12-month contract based in Galway, Ireland, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring three days per week onsite in Galway or Guildford, UK. The role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Content Design & Localization and is crucial for managing the operational model that plans, prioritizes, routes, measures, and enhances language support services across Fan Care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee language support within Self-Service and other customer support functions to ensure localization effectively serves player and market demands.
- Collaborate closely with Localization, Fan Care, and Self-Service teams to set priorities and produce superior localized player experiences.
- Make strategic decisions on the utilization of human translation, machine translation, AI-assisted tools, or combinations thereof to optimize speed, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Assess performance data spanning languages, regions, and channels to produce insightful and actionable recommendations.
- Spot and leverage opportunities to enhance language coverage, cultural relevance, terminology, and tone at regional levels.
- Facilitate early involvement of localization in planning for new and ongoing player-facing projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years’ experience in localization, customer support operations, program or content management.
- Proven experience in managing localized content, multilingual initiatives, or localization processes at scale.
- Strong expertise with translation workflows, vendor relations, and AI-enhanced translation technologies.
- Demonstrated capability in designing scalable workflows, budget management, KPI analysis, and collaboration with senior leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in localization, linguistics, project management, or operational fields.
- Familiarity with AI assessment, translation management systems, or multilingual quality assurance frameworks.
- Experience in supporting player service or digital customer experience in gaming or technology sectors.
