Land Surveyor

Role overview

An experienced Land Surveyor is needed for construction assignments in Abu Dhabi, with a strong preference for professionals who have worked on high-rise, prominent, or large-scale developments. The position focuses on surveying, setting-out, topographic measurements, as-built documentation, and construction layout activities while maintaining alignment with project requirements, approved plans, and UAE construction practices.

Core responsibilities

• Carry out land, topographic, and construction surveys to support day-to-day project execution.
• Set up and preserve survey control points, benchmarks, and reference coordinates.
• Complete setting-out activities for foundations, structures, roads, utilities, and other infrastructure works.
• Check dimensions, elevations, alignments, and levels against approved drawings.
• Perform as-built surveys and prepare precise survey reports and records.
• Use and care for survey instruments such as Total Station, GPS, and Auto Level.
• Work closely with engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure accurate layout implementation.
• Track site work to confirm compliance with design coordinates and required tolerances.
• Prepare survey computations, coordinate information, and technical documentation.
• Identify and help resolve surveying inconsistencies and site-level technical issues.
• Maintain field books, survey files, and related documentation.
• Assist with project closeout and final as-built submission requirements.

Requirements

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a similar discipline is required.
• At least 3 years of UAE experience working as a Land Surveyor on construction projects.
• Exposure to high-rise, high-profile, or mega developments will be an added advantage.
• Hands-on proficiency with Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, and other surveying equipment is necessary.
• Strong understanding of survey computations, coordinate systems, and setting-out processes is expected.
• Experience with topographic surveys, as-built surveys, and quantity calculations is required.
• Sound knowledge of engineering drawings, construction methods, and UAE construction standards is needed.
• Ability to use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office, and survey-related software effectively.
• Good analytical ability, numerical accuracy, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• A valid UAE driving licence is mandatory.

Additional information

The role is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and is a full-time onsite position. Preference is given to candidates with experience in major construction environments. Interested candidates are expected to have the necessary UAE experience and a valid driving licence.
