Job Overview
KBL Environmental Ltd. is looking for a dedicated Labourer to participate in various projects around Calgary, Alberta. The role involves supporting supervisors and operators by maintaining cleanliness on sites, moving construction materials, and carrying out routine upkeep of tools and equipment. Labourers are also expected to safely operate machinery such as rock trucks and packers. The assignments may cover tasks related to demolition, environmental remediation, and land reclamation.
Key Responsibilities
- Keeping construction sites clean and orderly.
- Performing regular maintenance on construction tools and equipment, including loading and unloading.
- Operating heavy machinery safely and effectively.
- Utilizing hand tools and assisting colleagues by handling materials on site.
- Adhering strictly to safety standards and protocols at all times.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Between one to two years of work experience in a comparable labor role.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driving license.
- Physical fitness to handle demanding tasks such as lifting weights up to 55 lbs, working at heights, in confined spaces, and standing for long hours.
- Mechanical proficiency paired with strong problem-solving and team collaboration abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively exchange information in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel for work throughout Western Canada.
- Capability to work under varying weather conditions, including both extreme heat and cold.
- Availability to work both day and night shifts, with shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
