Role Overview
As a Laboratory Technician at ALS, you will undertake preparation and analysis of environmental samples including soil, water, oil and grease, and sediment. You will handle tasks such as weighing, filtering, titrating, digesting, and solvent extraction in alignment with quality protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze soil, water, oil, grease, and sediment samples using various laboratory techniques.
- Follow ALS Quality Work Instructions to ensure all analytical procedures and associated activities are performed accurately.
- Organize tasks for efficient daily workflow management.
- Complete assigned tasks within deadlines set by supervisors and meet relevant analysis standards.
- Identify and report any anomalies in sample results or behaviour.
Requirements and Expectations
- Hold TAFE or University qualifications with a genuine interest in scientific disciplines.
- Preferably possess prior commercial laboratory experience or demonstrate a strong willingness to work in a fast-paced, client-focused lab environment.
- Exemplary attention to detail along with strong organisational and time management capabilities.
- Commitment to maintain high-quality laboratory practices focusing on accurate results and health and safety standards.
- Flexibility to work public holidays and weekend shifts as needed.
- Open to cross-training across different lab sections.
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with determination to uphold uncompromised quality.
