Role overview
Chevron is hiring a Laboratory Technician for its Oronite plant on Jurong Island, Singapore. The application window remains open until 1 July 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Singapore time. Applicants are advised to review the Data Privacy Notice before submitting their application.
What you will do
- Carry out approved analytical testing on raw materials, components, and finished products using ASTM and company-specific test methods to support plant operations and customer service.
- Run in-process testing whenever required by the Technical and Operations teams.
- Perform calibration work and routine upkeep of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Test standard reference samples and keep SMC/SQC charts updated.
- Stay current on changes to test procedures and calibration methods so results remain accurate.
- Support chemists with lab blend studies and analysis of samples outside the normal workflow.
- Manage retention samples for raw materials, components, and finished products in line with corporate rules.
- Demonstrate strong high-performance organizational behavior in day-to-day work.
- Follow good housekeeping standards and keep the lab environment clean and orderly.
Requirements
- Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Sciences, Biochemical Sciences, or a closely related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a refinery, petrochemical, or chemical environment is preferred.
- Applicants without direct experience may still apply, as training will be provided for those interested in the petrochemical sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
Work location and employment notes
The selected candidate will be stationed at Chevron Oronite plant on Jurong Island, Singapore. Relocation will not be considered under Chevron’s parameters. The role will be offered under Singapore’s local payroll system and benefits.
