About the role
WSP is seeking a junior field technician to join its Auckland laboratory team in Tāmaki Makaurau. The role supports testing work for civil engineering materials used in infrastructure projects across Aotearoa New Zealand, including aggregates, soils, concrete, and bitumen.
This position is a practical, hands-on opportunity to develop your career while contributing to infrastructure that helps build stronger, safer, and better-connected communities.
What you’ll be doing
- Working in both outdoor field environments and laboratory settings, with the main emphasis on field testing.
- Helping deliver civil materials testing that supports important infrastructure projects.
- Using prior experience in field-based or laboratory testing in day-to-day practical work.
- Handling basic data entry tasks and stepping in for overtime when required.
What we’re looking for
- Some background in laboratory work or field testing.
- A person who is physically capable and conscious of safe work practices.
- Comfort using basic computers and digital tools.
- Someone who communicates well and works effectively in a team.
- Willingness to travel and work additional hours when needed.
- A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
Eligibility and other conditions
