Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a confectionery professional who enjoys skilled hands-on work and wants to help turn chocolate ideas into eye-catching creations. This is a full-time position based in Berlin, and the role follows a four-day work week.
The employer is a long-established family business dedicated to premium chocolate and sweet creations for more than 100 years. The chocolate house at Gendarmenmarkt is known for special chocolate experiences and top-level artisanal craft.
Within the chocolate café, guests are served refined petits fours, tarts, and other chocolate-based specialties. For lighter meals and treats in the Rausch Deli, the team offers fresh sweet and savory delicacies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, and check raw ingredients, intermediate products, and work equipment.
- Produce pralines, chocolate products, and decorative chocolate elements.
- Create and maintain display pieces, and support restoration work when needed.
- Assist with making patisserie items for the café and deli.
- Contribute to the creation of new products and seasonal assortments.
- Support special productions and event-related work.
- Follow workplace safety, quality, and hygiene requirements.
- Clean equipment and work tools in line with HACCP standards.
- Take part in recipe development and help create social media content for the café and deli.
Requirements
- Completed training as a confectioner, pastry chef, or similar role, along with experience working with chocolate.
- Strong interest in premium chocolate, patisserie, and artisanal production.
- Creative thinking, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality.
- Independent, structured, and dependable way of working.
- Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing needs.
- Friendly personality with good communication skills.
- Good command of German and English.
