About the Position

Ballymascanlon Hotel & Golf Resort, located in Dundalk, County Louth, is seeking an experienced Kitchen Porter to become part of their team. Situated on 130 acres of picturesque parkland, Ballymascanlon House is a distinguished four-star Victorian property with a history dating back to 833 A.D., serving as the centerpiece of the hotel.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous provision of clean dishes, glassware, cutlery, and cookware for all hotel outlets.
• Operate dishwashing machinery to clean utensils, glassware, and plates.
• Clean the dishwashing machine regularly, including end-of-shift maintenance.
• Wash pots and pans, return them to designated storage, and supply pots to all outlets.
• Support the chef’s line by placing pots and cleaning dirty dishes as necessary.
• Keep glassware organized and store clean items appropriately.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness by assisting with standard cleaning routines including sweeping and mopping floors.
• Clean clearing counters, shelves, cooking units, and pot storage areas.
• Manage waste by monitoring bin levels and removing trash as needed.
• Assist kitchen staff in keeping their work areas free of clutter and soiled equipment.
• Adhere strictly to safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Report any breakages promptly to the Head Chef.

Job Requirements

• Flexibility to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays, and Christmas periods.
• Legal eligibility to work beyond 11pm on weekdays.
• Prior experience in a kitchen setting such as a hotel, restaurant, or bar is preferred.
