Kitchen Helper

Overview

Baba Q's Smoke & Grill is hiring a kitchen helper for its location in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. This role is based at the physical workplace and cannot be done remotely.

Education and Experience

No degree, certificate, or diploma is required. The position calls for 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience.

Key Duties

• Carry clean dishes, flatware, and similar items to serving areas and arrange tables.
• Clear, wipe, and reset tables, trays, and chairs.
• Run dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, glassware, and utensils.
• Wash dishes and other items by hand and sanitize them properly.
• Warm, finish, and assemble simple food items.
• Replenish refrigerators and salad bars.
• Use manual and powered tools to clean, peel, slice, and trim food ingredients.
• Store and manage cleaning supplies safely.
• Receive deliveries and put supplies away in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage spaces.
• Take out kitchen waste and garbage.
• Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
• Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables.
• Check kitchens and food service areas for cleanliness and readiness.
• Keep kitchen and work areas clean and orderly.
• Plan menus and make sure food quality standards are met.
• Cook food regularly and for special guests or functions.
• Prepare meals, specialty items, and full dishes.

Supervision

This role involves supervising a general cook.
