Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
TRGC is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for its Edinburgh airport location. This position sits within the back-of-house team and plays an important part in keeping kitchen operations running smoothly.
What you’ll do
Your day-to-day work will focus on keeping the kitchen clean and organised, including washing dishes and maintaining food preparation areas. You’ll help ensure the line chefs have the tools and support they need to prepare food efficiently for guests. The role also involves working closely with the wider team, flagging any problems quickly and contributing to a positive guest experience.
Working pattern
This is an airport-based role, so shifts may begin very early in the day, sometimes as early as 3:00am. Early starts are balanced by early finishes.
About the employer
The Restaurant Group (TRG) operates close to 300 restaurants and pub restaurants across the UK. Its portfolio includes concessions mainly in UK airports, along with brands such as wagamama and Barburrito. TRG emphasises a people-first culture and aims to create workplaces that support career growth and rewarding long-term opportunities.
Benefits
Employees receive free meals while on shift, discounts across the company’s brands, and access to several additional savings and reward platforms. Training, development, and apprenticeship opportunities are also available.
Candidate requirements
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with others, stays organised in a busy setting, and can manage multiple tasks at once. A calm, positive approach is important in a fast-paced airport environment. Flexibility with working hours is essential, and candidates must be able to provide a five-year history covering work, education, or personal references, along with a criminal record check.
Inclusion and adjustments
TRGC is committed to an inclusive workplace where different perspectives are welcomed and valued. The employer also identifies as disability confident and supports candidates who may need adjustments during the application or interview process.
