Role Overview

As the Kenya Growth Lead, you will spearhead Ello's growth initiatives in Kenya, aiming to exponentially increase the number of Kenyan children benefiting from Ello's educational tools. This role requires crafting and executing a localized growth strategy, including content development, organic social media management, influencer collaborations, and strategic partnerships to build trust and awareness among Kenyan families.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine Ello’s growth strategy tailored to the Kenyan market, improving on existing approaches.
• Establish growth objectives and measurable KPIs, regularly tracking the entire user conversion funnel from awareness through retention.
• Lead content creation efforts and manage relationships with local creators and influencers to power successful social campaigns.
• Discover and experiment with new channels to strengthen awareness and trust within the Kenyan community.
• Forge strategic collaborations such as discounted data deals with telecommunications providers, device accessibility initiatives, and governmental alliances.
• Oversee local agencies and contractors, expanding the team as growth demands increase.
• Work closely with Kenyan colleagues to ground growth strategies in authentic user data and insights.
• Contribute to shaping the global growth playbook for expansion to new territories.

Essential Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of experience in growth, marketing, or strategic roles.
• Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to ownership of metrics and accuracy.
• Experience or familiarity with digital marketing, specifically ad campaigns on Meta and TikTok platforms.
• Active social media presence with expertise in content trends and management of creators or influencers.
• A versatile, entrepreneurial mindset ready to define and experiment with growth strategies independently.
• Comfortable employing AI tools to accelerate and enhance work output.
• Excellent structured communication skills suited for collaboration across different time zones.
• Residence in Nairobi or willingness to relocate.

• Proven success in digital marketing campaign execution with measurable results.
• Experience in partnerships or business development roles involving negotiation and deal-making.
• Background as a founder or in early-stage startups.
• Prior experience marketing to families, particularly in education or consumer applications relevant to Kenya and East Africa.
