About the Role

This position sits within a group focused on projects that support sustainable communities, climate resilience, social equity, and the transition to low-carbon economies. The team delivers a broad mix of public and private sector work, including public realm improvements, transport infrastructure, and development masterplans.
You will work alongside engineers, planners, and technicians in a fast-moving environment under the direction of a senior technician. The role is designed for someone early in their career who wants to build practical experience, strengthen technical capability, and grow within the organisation in Ireland and internationally. Structured training and mentorship are also part of the opportunity.
What You Will Do
- Support the design and delivery of transport projects with engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Create detailed general arrangement drawings, plans, and sections using AutoCAD.
- Develop 3D models with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and other BIM tools.
- Carry out assigned work under guidance from senior technicians or senior engineers.
- At times, contribute to work across other disciplines and teams within Arup.
- Take part in discussions around design alternatives and problem-solving approaches.
- Help develop other team members where needed.
- Support improvement of team practices and processes through the Arup skills network.
- Attend and contribute to presentations and workshops.
- Build a deeper understanding of engineering design workflows and explore how software can improve delivery efficiency over time.
What We’re Looking For
- A candidate currently studying for, or recently completed, an NFQ Level 6 Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate in a relevant technical discipline such as engineering, CAD, technical design, or a similar field.
- Strong technical foundation and interest in developing further.
- Ability to work well in a team and contribute ideas in a collaborative setting.
- Clear communication skills and a cooperative approach.
- Comfort with planned work, quality standards, and meeting deadlines.
- Interest in self-development across design, technical, and broader professional skills.
- Passion for sustainable transportation and creating positive impact through design.
Why Join Arup
- Access to structured graduate development and ongoing learning support.
- Mentoring from experienced professionals.
- Opportunities to work with global teams and potentially take on assignments in other Arup offices or project locations.
- Competitive graduate pay and benefits, including participation in a global profit-sharing programme.
- Health and wellbeing support such as health insurance, flexible working arrangements, wellness programmes, and an Employee Assistance Programme.
- A workplace culture built on inclusion, fairness, respect, and collaboration.
