Job description
Role overview
Ignite is hiring a junior IT Service Desk & Service Administrator for its secure project setting in Hallbergmoos, Germany. This is a fully on-site position in a medium-sized IT consulting and management services company headquartered in Munich. The firm supports clients across the full IT lifecycle, from understanding requirements and shaping designs to implementation, with a focus on quality, flexibility, and teamwork.
Working arrangement
The role is available as either a full-time schedule of 5 days per week or a part-time schedule of 4 days per week. The job must be performed entirely on-site in Hallbergmoos (Freising district); remote or mobile work is not permitted.
Experience and language expectations
This opportunity is intended for junior-level candidates with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Strong English and German ability is required: English at C1/fluent level and German at C2/native or equivalent.
What you will do
- Serve as the main contact for incoming IT support requests and incidents, recording, categorising, monitoring, and documenting them in the ITSM system.
- Handle first-line support, investigate issues at an early stage, and resolve as many requests as possible before escalating more complex cases to higher support tiers.
- Keep an eye on ticket queues to support SLA compliance, and contribute to knowledge articles as well as the CMDB.
- Support IT asset handling, including issuing, replacing, returning, and documenting hardware inventory.
- Assist with workstation setup, configuration, and rollout activities.
- Carry out basic user administration tasks according to internal rules and help with technical arrangements for meetings and conferences.
- Manage sensitive access, system, and user data carefully and follow all required security procedures.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant has completed vocational IT training or holds an equivalent qualification. Practical exposure to IT support, a service desk, or a user help desk is expected, preferably in a structured, public-sector, or security-sensitive environment. You should be comfortable using Windows client operating systems, Microsoft Office, and standard workplace IT tools. A working understanding of Active Directory, networks, and general IT infrastructure is also important. The role calls for a methodical approach to logging, documenting, prioritising, and escalating issues, along with a strong sense of responsibility, willingness to learn, and interest in IT service management processes.
Preferred background
Additional value will be given to candidates with initial experience using ITSM platforms, familiarity with ITIL concepts or IT service management frameworks, or an ITIL Foundation certification. Experience in international or multinational project environments is also considered a plus.
Project requirements
A security clearance is required for this role, or the candidate must be willing to complete the vetting process during onboarding. The position is also subject to project-specific citizenship restrictions. Start can be immediate or by mutual agreement.
Benefits
- Thorough onboarding with training and guidance from experienced team members.
- A professional setting with well-defined processes, high quality standards, and an international security-aware culture.
- Support for ongoing learning, including development opportunities in ITSM and ITIL.
- A progression path that can lead to greater responsibility and future Professional or Senior-level roles.
- Option to work a 4-day week for improved work-life balance.
Additional information
This role is within a company of 11 to 50 employees that provides software development and ERP-related services to clients.
