Role overview
The Junior HSE Officer will help apply health, safety, and environmental standards at project sites and facilities in Abu Dhabi. This is a full-time, on-site position focused on observing workplace conditions, supporting risk assessments, and encouraging safe working practices in line with company policy and regulatory rules. The role requires regular site presence and close coordination with project teams, site supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.
Key duties
The role includes site inspections, hazard and incident reporting, support in maintaining HSE records and documentation, and participation in toolbox talks and safety training sessions. The Junior HSE Officer will also assist with emergency preparedness efforts and help improve overall HSE performance while ensuring alignment with ISO and OHSAS requirements.
Qualifications and skills
Applicants should have a solid foundation in health and safety, workplace safety, environmental health and safety, and occupational health. The ability to spot hazards and encourage safe work habits is important. A NEBOSH qualification, or progress toward one, is expected. A diploma or bachelor’s degree in HSE, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a similar discipline is preferred. Familiarity with ISO19001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, and basic UAE HSE regulations will be helpful. Strong attention to detail, documentation ability, reporting skills, communication, and teamwork are needed to work effectively with varied site personnel and support a strong safety culture. Candidates must be comfortable working on-site in Abu Dhabi, carrying out field visits, and using proper personal protective equipment.
Experience and notice period
The preferred experience is 2 to 3 years of UAE experience. The notice period expected is immediate to 10 days.
