Job description

Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Health Safety Environment (HSE) Officer is tasked with auditing the HSE management system at scheduled intervals to verify conformity with operational standards and ensure effective implementation and maintenance.

  • Inspect workplaces to identify hazards, risks, and environmental impacts.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and environmental impact evaluations.
  • Recommend improvements to health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Engage with management and staff to foster a safe work environment.
  • Maintain effective communication systems relating to HSE matters.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety performance and compliance.
  • Support the development and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental policies to comply with legal requirements.
  • Identify and coordinate health, safety, and environmental training needs with the HSE Administrator.
  • Detect unsafe behaviors or conditions, investigate causes, and suggest corrective actions.
  • Assist in preparing fire emergency plans and conducting fire and emergency drills.
  • Update emergency procedures as necessary and participate in departmental meetings.
  • Organize awareness campaigns and workshops focusing on occupational health, safety, fire safety, and related subjects.
  • Participate in required training relevant to the role and perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Skills

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree or an associate diploma supplemented by a relevant vocational or professional certificate, along with a minimum of three years of experience in a related role.

  • Maintain cleanliness and a neat professional appearance, adhering to company uniform standards.
  • Exhibit calmness and patience while effectively communicating at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrate teamwork capability and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Possess punctuality and commitment to attendance requirements.
  • Experienced in first aid, firefighting, emergency response, and evacuation procedures.
  • Proficient with computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and ERP systems.
  • Capable of planning, coordination, follow-up, and persuading others.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills with decision-making aptitude.
  • Communicate fluently in Arabic and English, both written and spoken, with strong presentation capabilities and leadership qualities.

  • Skillful in conducting risk assessments and leading incident investigations.
