Job description
Role overview
Kelly is looking for a detail-focused and analytical Junior Financial Reporting Analyst in Toronto, Canada. This hybrid assignment requires four days a week onsite and runs for 18 months, with the possibility of an extension or conversion. The role is a strong fit for someone with 1 to 3 years of experience who wants to build a career in financial reporting and analytics.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain recurring financial and treasury reports as well as dashboards.
- Review and interpret data to surface trends, deviations, and actionable business insights.
- Help manage monthly reporting processes and handle one-off reporting requests.
- Work with large datasets using Excel, SQL, and reporting platforms.
- Support dashboard creation and reporting improvements as the team moves from Tableau to Power BI.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to provide accurate and timely reporting outputs.
- Protect data quality and keep reporting documentation current.
Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, business analytics, or a closely related area.
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Analytics, or a similar field.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis functions.
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying and analyzing data at a basic to intermediate level.
- Prior exposure to Tableau or Power BI is preferred, and a willingness to learn Power BI is important.
- Experience in banking or financial services is a plus, though it is not mandatory.
- Well-developed analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A positive mindset, eagerness to learn, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
