Role Overview
Weber Shandwick is looking for an energetic Junior Designer focused on healthcare work to join its expanding creative team in Boston. This role suits a strong conceptual thinker who enjoys turning complex ideas into clear, engaging, and memorable visual communication. You will contribute to creative work across social platforms, presentations, integrated campaigns, and other brand touchpoints for healthcare clients that influence culture and conversation.
The ideal person is excited by the chance to create thoughtful, high-impact design that makes complicated subjects feel approachable, meaningful, and fresh.
What You’ll Work On
- Contribute to design work across a broad mix of deliverables, including brand identity, campaign assets, social posts, video, mockups, infographics, presentations, experiential pieces, print materials, and out-of-home advertising.
- Develop creative specifically for social channels and apply best practices for layout, design, and platform-specific execution.
- Make sure all outputs stay consistent with established brand standards and visual systems.
- Build design solutions that support and advance strategic goals.
- Partner with art directors, designers, strategists, producers, and other teammates to turn concepts into finished work.
- Contribute to longer-term creative thinking and recommendations aligned with client objectives.
- Share your creative ideas and work internally with the team.
- Keep up a solid understanding of product features and benefits relevant to the work.
- Review and apply feedback from creative leaders, colleagues, clients, and legal reviewers with accuracy and a constructive attitude.
Qualifications
- A portfolio is required; it may include school projects, speculative work, and other creative design samples.
- Strong interest in design, social media, and digital-first creative thinking.
- Comfort working across major social platforms and understanding how each one differs in creative requirements.
- Ability to use AI tools to improve or strengthen design work.
- Highly self-directed, organized, and comfortable working to deadlines.
- Awareness of social trends and emerging storytelling approaches for visual branding.
- Genuine enthusiasm for health and wellness topics.
- Willing to explore fresh ideas and push creative boundaries.
- Good time-management skills and the ability to handle priorities independently.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, and XD, plus presentation tools such as PowerPoint.
- Basic understanding of print production, typography systems, and layout principles.
- Any motion skills in After Effects will be put to use.
Additional Information
Salary range for this position: USD 50,000 to USD 55,000 annually. Placement within the range depends on factors such as current or prior compensation for the role, market conditions, budget, tenure and standing for existing employees, and the candidate’s background, experience, and qualifications.
