Job description
Role overview
Dynamis, Inc. is hiring a Junior Criminal Analyst in Houston, Texas to support a high-profile Homeland Security Investigations worksite enforcement mission. In this position, you will work alongside HSI special agents to review employment eligibility records, business documents, and government data sources that help shape national and international investigations tied to workplace compliance.
The role is hands-on, fast-moving, and highly detail-oriented. Your analytical work will contribute to enforcement outputs such as Notices of Inspection, Notices of Intent to Fine, and other authorized actions. This is also a strong entry point into federal investigative work, with mentorship from experienced investigators and room to grow into more advanced compliance and analysis roles.
Key duties
- Review I-9 forms, payroll information, corporate records, and other employment-related documents to identify compliance issues and possible breaches of federal immigration employment rules.
- Search and compare information across law enforcement and commercial databases to uncover discrepancies, patterns, and anomalies that support live investigations.
- Write concise, well-supported case summaries, analytical reports, and findings that can stand up to review and help drive enforcement activity.
- Assist with coordination and liaison work across domestic and international investigation programs and partner organizations.
- Keep case files accurate, orderly, and compliant with DHS/ICE privacy and data-handling standards, while helping flag potential violations of employment verification and worksite compliance laws.
- Prepare briefing packets and other analytical materials for site visits, enforcement actions, and leadership meetings.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, business administration, public administration, law, or a closely related discipline is required.
- At least 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience in compliance, investigations, legal support, immigration services, or a similar area is required.
- Applicants should have strong analytical and research abilities, with the capacity to review and organize large volumes of records and data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed for report writing and regular coordination with federal law enforcement staff.
- You should be able to perform accurate high-volume data entry from paper records into electronic systems and carry out database searches across law enforcement and commercial tools.
- Ability to obtain and keep an ICE suitability determination is mandatory.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred background
- Experience with federal law enforcement or regulatory agencies is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of employment eligibility verification, including Form I-9 compliance and E-Verify, is highly desirable.
- Prior work with HSI, ICE, or other DHS components, especially involving sensitive or law-enforcement-controlled information, is preferred.
- Experience using government databases or investigative case management platforms will be beneficial.
