Job description
Position Overview
The Junior Clinical Fellow (CF) position in General Medicine offers an excellent chance for doctors who have completed their Foundation Years to build broad expertise in general medicine at a central London teaching hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive inpatient care to geriatric and general medical patients, including patient assessment, creating treatment plans, and ongoing monitoring.
- Participate actively in consultant-led ward rounds for new admissions and registrar-led review rounds for current patients to ensure high standards of care and educational growth.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including consultants, registrars, junior doctors, nurses, and therapists to provide coordinated patient management.
- Manage clinical cases following applicable guidelines and protocols while escalating to senior staff as necessary.
- Contribute to departmental and Trust-wide initiatives, including involvement in Quality Improvement projects to enhance patient services and operational processes.
Department Focus
The Geriatric Medicine teams specialize in treating older adults with diverse medical issues, ranging from falls to complex multi-morbidity cases involving cancer or cardiac conditions. These teams work closely with other hospital specialties to holistically assess and address all health needs of their patients.

Additional Details
The role may be offered with or without out-of-hours on-call duties. Flexibility for working arrangements is encouraged to support staff needs.
