Job description
Role overview
Scholz & Friends is looking for a Junior Art Director to join its Hamburg team. This role is aimed at someone with a strong visual mindset who wants to help shape modern campaign work, contribute fresh ideas, and create designs that stand out and connect emotionally.
Your impact
- You will support the development of creative visual concepts designed to work across multiple channels and integrated campaigns.
- You will help shape the visual identity of distinctive brand appearances.
- You will turn creative and strategic thinking into compelling visual storytelling.
- You will assist with the creation of contemporary image concepts and support audio and video production processes.
- You will produce high-quality visual designs with strong attention to detail.
- You will use AI-powered tools as part of your everyday creative workflow for ideation and visual execution.
What you should bring
You should already have initial professional experience, for example through internships or as a junior in a fast-moving creative agency. A strong portfolio is important and should show your design sensibility as well as early campaign thinking. The role also calls for a willingness to think laterally, translate bold ideas into visual worlds, and work confidently with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. A sharp eye for aesthetics, awareness of current design trends, and a desire to keep developing yourself are also important.
Team and culture
You will be joining a close-knit creative team that values collaboration, inspiration, and shared success. The organization emphasizes innovation, AI-driven ways of working, diversity, inclusion, and mental well-being. If you fit the team well, you can be supported and developed further in the role.
Work environment and benefits
- Hybrid working is available under the mobile-office policy, along with flexible working hours.
- You may work from another EU country for up to 45 days per year.
- Discounts are available from nearby service providers and gyms at the company locations.
- Employees receive a discounted package for Wellhub, covering sports, leisure, wellness, or app-based offerings.
- Mental health support is provided in partnership with Telus Health.
- There is free learning support for a healthy work-life balance through voiio.
- The Scholz & Friends Academy offers open learning formats on a wide range of specialist topics, inspiration sessions, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging.
- Regular training and best-practice sharing help employees grow their AI expertise and shape the future of communication.
- The AI tool WPP Open is available for practical use in day-to-day work.
- Cross-location mentoring programs are available for women at different career stages.
- Reverse mentoring connects young professionals and leaders.
- Employees can help shape the agency culture through round tables and internal initiatives such as the &Queer* community.
