Role Overview

The position of Junior Accountant is a full-time on-site role located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The incumbent will support day-to-day accounting functions such as recording financial transactions and maintaining ledgers. Key duties include processing invoices, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and account statements, and aiding compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, including double-entry bookkeeping and basic financial statements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
  • High attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and accuracy in data input.
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and oral, maintaining professionalism.
  • Collaborative work style with capability to nurture internal and external professional relationships.
  • Academic credentials: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 0 years required; previous internships or junior roles in accounting or finance add value.
  • Knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial reporting standards is advantageous.
