Job Purpose

This role entails responding swiftly to aircraft and structural fire emergencies, medical crises, hazardous material incidents, and other critical situations within the airport. It focuses on guaranteeing safety for passengers, crew, and staff by providing expert firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical support.

Key Responsibilities

• React promptly to aircraft incidents, building fires, medical emergencies, hazardous substances events, and other urgent airport situations.
• Conduct firefighting operations using various suppression methods such as water, foam, and dry chemicals.
• Carrying out search and rescue missions in smoke-affected or dangerous conditions.
• Deliver first aid and basic life support until advanced help arrives and assist in patient transfer to medical facilities when necessary.
• Carry out daily checks and upkeep of firefighting vehicles, fire extinguishers, and personal protective gear.
• Monitor and maintain stock of firefighting equipment ensuring readiness for emergency use.
• Participate regularly in emergency drills, ICAO-required training, and simulations to maintain preparedness.
• Document incident reports, maintain training logs, and prepare shift records in compliance with audit requirements.
• Ensure adherence to pertinent regulations and follow Standard Operating Procedures rigorously.
• Recognize safety hazards during patrols and inspections and execute immediate remedial actions.
• Coordinate with airport operation teams, medical services, and external emergency agencies during incidents and drills.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage actively with internal stakeholders such as Duty Manager - ARFF, Airport Operations, Security, EMS, ARFF Crew, Maintenance, and HSE teams.
• Liaise with external entities including local fire departments, airlines, ground handling companies, equipment vendors, insurers, community leaders, and civil aviation authorities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Fire Fighting Technology.
• Certification from a recognized firefighting academy is mandatory.
• 2 to 3 years of firefighting experience, ideally in aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) environments.
