Jr. Graphic Designer

About the Role

JARS Cannabis is hiring a Junior Graphic Designer in Troy, Michigan to support the creation of both print and digital creative assets for a fast-growing cannabis retail brand. This role works closely with marketing, e-commerce, and other creative partners to help deliver consistent, high-quality visuals across multiple channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and production of digital content such as banner ads, CRM graphics, email layouts, social media assets, and promotional artwork.
• Partner with the e-commerce and marketing teams to keep all creative work aligned with the brand’s visual identity.
• Create thumbnail and layout concepts that combine imagery and typography with strong visual hierarchy.
• Help maintain consistency in design quality and brand messaging across all company platforms.
• Review product presentation and online marketing material with the creative team to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work with fellow designers on campaign visuals, project concepts, and promotional event creative.
• Support marketing efforts for retail activations, brand partnership campaigns, and events.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of professional experience in graphic design.
• A portfolio that shows commercial marketing and design work.
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects.
• Familiarity with Premiere and Adobe XD is considered an advantage.
• Experience creating assets for both print and digital formats.
• Understanding of social content strategy and how design supports it.
• Strong attention to detail with a solid grasp of typography, color, hierarchy, and balance.
• Awareness of production design standards and file preparation requirements.
• Strong organization, time management, and communication skills, including the ability to explain design choices to stakeholders.
• Interest in learning about the cannabis industry is welcomed, though prior cannabis experience is not required.
