About The Cashew Export Promotion Council of India

Established in 1955 in collaboration with the Indian government and the cashew industry, the Cashew Export Promotion Council of India (CEPC) plays a pivotal role in advancing India's cashew export segment. The Council acts as a vital bridge connecting exporters, industry players, and government authorities, focusing on enhancing export performance, elevating quality benchmarks, and increasing market penetration for Indian cashew products.

Role Overview

This full-time, on-location position based in Kollam entails leading operational and administrative functions of the Council. The Joint Director will steer export promotion activities, oversee staff, manage projects and programs, and support policy execution within the cashew sector. Key responsibilities include preparing reports and proposals, coordinating with various stakeholders including government agencies and exporters, monitoring market and industry trends, organizing trade-related events, and ensuring alignment of activities with strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Council's operational, administrative, and promotional functions.
  • Coordinate export initiatives and support implementation of policies affecting the cashew industry.
  • Supervise teams and manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, and presentations aimed at boards and official forums.
  • Liaise with government bodies, exporters, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and growth.
  • Monitor industry developments, regulatory standards, and international trade practices to guide decision-making.
  • Organize events such as trade fairs and seminars to promote the Indian cashew sector.
  • Contribute to budget planning, regulatory compliance, and process improvement efforts to strengthen the export ecosystem.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience in trade and export promotion activities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, capable of directing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, policy analysis, project management, including monitoring and evaluation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at preparing reports and delivering presentations to high-level audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality standards, regulatory frameworks, and international agricultural trade.
  • Ability to operate from the Kollam office, manage competing priorities, and make data-driven decisions promptly.
  • Master's degree or equivalent in Management, Commerce, Economics, or related areas; additional certifications advantageous.
  • Experience within public sector entities, industry bodies, trade associations, or export-focused companies preferred.
