Java Technical Architect - Fullstack Developer (Onsite) in Cork, Ireland

About the Role

QT Technologies Ireland Limited is seeking an experienced Fullstack Lead specializing in IP-related software solutions. The position involves architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining custom applications for analyzing one of the world’s largest patent portfolios. These applications aim to streamline and accelerate data delivery, adapting dynamically to meet evolving requirements from legal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and provide ongoing support for intuitive tools that enable attorneys and engineers to analyze inventions, evaluate their value, and manage patent data efficiently.
• Create analytics platforms that assist IP engineers in examining patent portfolios across various metrics, such as technological and financial factors.
• Develop modern web applications using up-to-date technologies including Angular, React, Java 8+, Python, relational and NoSQL databases, Spring, Hibernate, Apache Solr, messaging systems, and HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript frameworks.
• Integrate internal invention and patent management systems with global patent offices through robust integration solutions.
• Automate workflow processes and internal systems within the legal team to increase efficiency.
• Deploy applications to cloud environments (AWS) with continuous integration and delivery managed by Jenkins to ensure uninterrupted uptime.
• Lead and mentor team members on development best practices, code standards, and architectural principles, including conducting code reviews and compliance checks.
• Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, analysts, project managers, and development teams to clarify technical and functional requirements.
• Engage in requirement analysis, design, code reviews, and product testing, applying BDD or TDD methodologies.
• Identify process enhancement opportunities and propose constructive improvements.
• Work within Agile and Scrum development frameworks.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Over 12 years of professional experience in software development with reputable organizations.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8 or higher, Python, Groovy, Spring Framework, and Hibernate ORM.
• Comprehensive understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software architectural patterns.
• Demonstrated expertise in full-stack development, including building interactive user interfaces using Angular or ReactJS.
• Experience in developing cloud-native software solutions, preferably on AWS.
• Skilled in designing data models using RDBMS such as Oracle or MySQL, as well as NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with search platforms such as Apache Solr or Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud infrastructure.
