Job Overview
This full-time Janitor II position at Kau Complex entails comprehensive custodial and grounds maintenance activities to uphold cleanliness and order in school facilities. The role involves using a variety of cleaning equipment and performing basic repairs and groundskeeping tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and clean floors, hallways, stairways, and classrooms ensuring sanitary environments.
- Dust, wipe, and polish furniture and metal fixtures to maintain a clean appearance.
- Clean less accessible areas including woodwork, walls, blinds, electrical fixtures, and windows.
- Sanitize restroom facilities including lavatories, water fountains, and wash basins.
- Maintain lawns by watering, raking, weeding, spreading soil, and mowing inaccessible areas.
- Collect and dispose of rubbish, leaves, and general refuse around the premises.
- Assist with trimming, pruning, planting, fertilizing, and transplanting landscape vegetation.
- Move and transport heavy furniture and equipment as necessary.
- Load, unload, and distribute janitorial and school supplies and equipment.
- Perform minor repairs such as replacing toilet floats, faucets, light bulbs, and fuses.
- Operate industrial cleaning machinery including vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, and carpet shampoo machines.
- Manage janitorial supplies inventory and assist in related record-keeping.
Qualifications and Experience
No prior experience is mandatory; however, candidates may highlight any relevant training or work including janitorial duties, grounds maintenance, or general labor tasks like material handling, loading/unloading, and tool management.
Additional Information
- The monthly salary is $4,534, reflecting full-time employment with applicable differentials.
- Employment is based on a 40-hour work week; part-time and overtime hours are prorated accordingly for experience calculations.
- Temporary assignments may be extended and can lead to permanent employment opportunities.
- First paycheck is typically received within the first three pay periods; paydays occur on the 5th and 20th of each month (or preceding business day).
