Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and orderly shopping environment for customers. Your primary duties involve collecting shopping carts from various locations around the store and returning them to their proper storage areas while adhering to approved procedures. This position fosters a positive store experience through customer interactions and a strong emphasis on safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather shopping carts from parking lot, cart corrals, and store surrounds, ensuring they are returned safely to designated storage points utilizing Walmart’s protocols.
• Complete necessary documentation and logs accurately to track completed tasks.
• Respond quickly to requests from registers and Customer Service team, assisting with carrying items for customers and verifying purchase receipts when needed.
• Perform occasional cleaning tasks including restrooms, following guidelines for chemical usage, proper waste disposal, and safe operation of power equipment.
• Conduct pre-use inspections of equipment and adhere strictly to safety and emergency protocols such as hazardous communication and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Wear required personal protective gear at all times—steel-toe footwear, reflective vest—and conduct periodic safety sweeps to maintain a hazard-free environment.
• Be flexible with work schedule, including availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts to support continuous operations.

Challenges

• Manage high volumes of work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, especially during overnight shifts.
• Maintain stamina and focus by planning work hours strategically.
• Carry out physically demanding tasks like extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting items up to 20 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Execute repetitive responsibilities such as stocking and organizing products methodically to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The starting pay rate for this role is $16.50 per hour.
