Role Overview

PHW Group is hiring an IT Desktop Support Specialist to serve as the initial contact for end-user technology issues. In this position, you will help keep Google Workspace, Windows, and macOS systems functioning reliably while supporting the hardware, software, and account setup employees depend on every day.

The role is a strong fit for someone who adapts quickly, stays structured while managing multiple requests, and follows an issue through to resolution with minimal hand-holding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Watch system health and incoming support needs proactively so potential disruptions are caught early.
  • Deliver first-level troubleshooting for desktop and laptop issues on Windows and macOS devices.
  • Prepare Google Workspace tools such as Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Meet, along with Windows and macOS setups, for new employees to support a smooth onboarding process.
  • Create and remove user accounts as employees join or exit, handling routine provisioning and cleanup tasks.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software on Windows and macOS endpoints.
  • Diagnose and fix hardware problems involving printers, displays, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Act as the initial contact for network and connectivity issues, escalating deeper technical matters to the wider IT team when needed.
  • Apply security patches and regular updates to keep devices up to date and protected.
  • Check backup jobs every day, investigate and resolve failures, and support recovery efforts when required.
  • Record, prioritize, and track support tickets while keeping the IT knowledge base current with setups, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Between 0 and 2 years of experience in a dedicated IT support or helpdesk position.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Working familiarity with macOS and Linux is preferred.
  • Experience supporting iOS and Android mobile devices is an advantage.
  • Exposure to Google Workspace administration and Microsoft 365 is highly valued.
  • Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills are beneficial.
  • CompTIA A+ or an equivalent certification is a plus, though not mandatory.
  • A dependable, accountable approach with a willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow professionally.
