Job description

Role Overview

FemEdge Solutions is seeking a hands-on and customer-oriented Technical IT Support Officer for its Melbourne-based operations in the western suburbs. This is a full-time, office-based opportunity within a growing technology company, suited to someone who wants to expand their technical capabilities in a supportive small-team setting.

The position is a strong match for an applicant with around 2 to 3 years of IT support experience who is eager to continue building expertise. The company places a strong emphasis on attitude, initiative, communication, and a willingness to learn, alongside technical competence.

You will be supported through ongoing coaching and training while working with a mix of hardware, software, and cloud-driven solutions for customers in Australia and overseas.

Key Duties

  • Handle first- and second-line support requests for customers and reseller partners.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, software, networking, and cloud applications.
  • Record support requests and track them through to closure.
  • Set up and roll out hardware and software products.
  • Check hardware devices before they are sent out.
  • Set up mobile apps and mobile devices.
  • Work with software vendors and developers to fix technical problems.
  • Provide onboarding assistance and product training to customers.
  • Support internal IT systems, backups, and network monitoring tasks.
  • Attend customer sites from time to time for support and training.

Experience and Technical Background

Applicants should have a diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Systems, or a related field. The role is intended for someone with 2 to 3 years of experience in a help desk, service desk, or technical support environment.

Experience in Windows-based environments and Microsoft Server platforms is required. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Active Directory will be viewed favorably. A practical understanding of networking fundamentals such as VPNs, firewalls, and port forwarding is also important.

Working Style and Eligibility

This role suits someone with strong troubleshooting ability, excellent communication skills, and a genuine customer-service mindset. The successful candidate should bring a positive approach, be comfortable learning on the job, and be able to work both independently and as part of a small team.

Full and unrestricted Australian work rights are mandatory.

What the Role Offers

  • A collaborative team environment with direct mentoring.
  • Continuous technical and product training.
  • Scope to strengthen long-term technical expertise.
  • A secure full-time role in an expanding business.
