Role Overview
Timmons Group is looking for a knowledgeable and customer-oriented IT Specialist to join their team remotely from Raleigh, NC. This position suits a tech-inclined individual eager to tackle complex technical issues and provide comprehensive support for hardware and software systems. The role involves managing software license servers, monitoring tools, backup solutions, and offering advanced support for key user needs.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee IT services, tools, and software licensing management.
- Assist end-users and collaborate with teams to design solutions and resolve technical issues.
- Partner with the Systems Administrator to troubleshoot network problems.
- Continuously enhance technical knowledge and procedural skills.
- Independently handle projects to deliver efficient IT solutions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Preferred bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- Preferably 3 to 5 years of experience in related IT roles.
- Strong expertise with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms and AutoCAD software is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of IPv4 networking concepts.
- Proficiency in diagnosing system performance issues involving bandwidth, I/O, memory, and CPU.
- Experience administering web applications such as IIS, Nginx, and Apache.
- Knowledge of server OS administration, including Windows Server, Ubuntu, and RedHat.
- Scripting capabilities using PowerShell, Bash, and command-line interfaces.
- Experience managing Office365 environments.
- Availability to provide support during occasional nights and weekends.
- Strong remote troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience working with Autodesk and ArcGIS products.
- A customer-focused attitude combined with professionalism and maturity.
- Initiative and enthusiasm for ongoing learning and skill development.
