Job description
Role overview
We are seeking an IT support professional for our data center operations in Munich. This position centers on maintaining the on-site infrastructure, including oversight of power and cooling systems and hands-on administration of Linux servers such as Debian, Ubuntu, and AlmaLinux. It is well suited to someone who enjoys working directly with server hardware and wants to build deeper expertise in a high-availability environment.
Core responsibilities
- Handle first- and second-level support by receiving, assessing, and resolving IT incidents and service requests through the ticketing system, phone, or front desk.
- Investigate and fix technical issues involving server and network hardware as well as Linux-based software environments.
- Continuously monitor the server and network infrastructure, including power supply, air conditioning, and security systems.
- Install and configure network equipment and Linux servers.
- Perform maintenance activities and support hardware and software migrations.
- Keep asset records accurate and up to date.
Working style and environment
The role is fully site-based and requires comfort working close to the server environment. Flexibility for shift work is important. Success in this position also depends on a strong service mindset, patience when interacting with users, a cooperative team approach, physical readiness for handling hardware, and an organized, independent way of working.
Qualifications
- Strong practical knowledge of Linux systems, especially CentOS, AlmaLinux, Debian, and Ubuntu.
- Prior experience supporting business customers.
- Good command of both German and English, at least at B2 level.
Benefits
- Hybrid working arrangement.
- Subsidized canteen at some sites and complimentary beverages.
- Modern workplace with excellent public transport access.
- Access to a variety of employee discounts on activities and products.
- Company events including summer and winter celebrations, plus workshops.
- Wide-ranging training and professional development options.
- Health-focused offerings such as sports and wellness courses.
