Role Summary

As a Field Service Technician within the field services department, your core responsibility will be to handle the installation and commissioning of OPTEL systems at client locations. You will also provide maintenance, training, and technical support aimed at ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction and fostering client loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute installation of OPTEL systems following established procedures and standards.
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical installations while adhering to quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with technical support and factory design teams to diagnose and resolve system issues.
  • Train end-users on effective utilization of OPTEL systems.
  • Document installation activities thoroughly with accurate reporting.
  • Assist clients through system qualification processes.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on deployed systems as requested by customer service.
  • Conduct engineering site visits when necessary and produce detailed service reports.
  • Identify and relay potential sales opportunities, including new contracts and complementary system offerings.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or equivalent experience in electronics, computer science, electromechanics, or related discipline.
  • Strong foundational expertise in computer science and electronics.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetics sectors is advantageous.
  • Proficient mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic diagnostic and repair skills.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities with aptitude to explain complex technical issues clearly.
  • Effective time management, prioritization skills, and capacity to work under pressure.
  • Client-focused approach coupled with strong teamwork capabilities.
  • Adaptable, resourceful, versatile, and flexible.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and passport.
  • Keen curiosity and eagerness to learn emerging technologies, especially in artificial intelligence.
  • Willingness to travel roughly three weeks per month.
  • Fluency in English mandatory; French language skills considered an asset.
