Job description
About the Opportunity
This role sits within a new organisation that is developing its internal IT function from the ground up. You will take ownership of day-to-day IT service operations and help improve the end-user experience across the business.
The position involves practical leadership across incident, problem, and change management, along with service reporting and ongoing improvement. The focus is on keeping operations stable, maintaining strong service standards, and making delivery better over time.
This is an on-site position in Hamilton, making it a strong fit for someone already based in the Waikato region.
What You’ll Bring
You should have a background in IT service delivery, service desk leadership, or IT operations. A working knowledge of ITIL-style processes such as incident, problem, change, and request handling is important.
Strong stakeholder communication is also needed, including the ability to stay calm, set expectations clearly, and keep people informed. Experience working with vendors or managed service providers and holding them accountable to outcomes will be valuable.
We are looking for someone with a practical improvement mindset who can make processes more effective without adding unnecessary complexity.
What’s On Offer
This is a permanent position with genuine ownership and influence. It offers the opportunity to help build and shape service operations in a greenfield environment.
The role is local to Hamilton/Waikato and is not a remote position. It gives you visibility for the work you do, especially around service quality, improvement, and operational stability.
You will join a team that values delivery, practicality, and strong ways of working.
