Role Summary
This full-time role provides IT infrastructure support and service delivery to users and sites throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom as a member of a centralized IT infrastructure team. The position requires regular travel across Ireland and a valid driving license. Working hours are typically 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with possible variations based on business needs. Candidates must have legal permission to work and travel in both the UK and Ireland. Sponsorship is unavailable for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end-user computing support and service management across supported locations.
- Offer in-person and remote assistance to users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues in alignment with service standards.
- Provide localized technical support for IT infrastructure equipment, including devices, servers, VoIP systems, and network components, following established policies.
- Install, set up, and maintain PCs, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices according to company procedures and standards.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of end-user computing services, from provisioning and replacement to fault resolution and secure decommissioning.
- Oversee asset management for end-user devices.
- Maintain a high standard of internal and external customer service through professionalism and user-centric approaches.
- Possess a working knowledge of other infrastructure domains like servers and network services to collaborate effectively with specialist teams.
- Provide advanced technical support for specialized or isolated environments when necessary.
- Log, handle, and escalate incidents and service requests per Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring timely updates and resolutions.
- Initiate and implement change requests aligned with change management protocols.
- Create and maintain technical and operational documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), FAQs, and site-specific records to support consistent service delivery.
- Identify and recommend improvements in service delivery.
- Engage in shift rotations, including potential evening, weekend, on-call, or standby duties as required for support coverage.
- Participate in developmental training to meet company standards and role requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Solid knowledge of end-user computing environments, especially Windows OS versions and common enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with Active Directory concepts, including user/computer objects, basic Group Policy, and authentication mechanisms.
- Understanding of networking, storage, and backup fundamentals to effectively interact with specialized teams.
- Proven skills in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues for end users.
- Experience using ticketing systems to manage incidents, service requests, and change processes.
- Ability to follow, contribute to, and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
- Strong communication skills capable of translating technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Good judgment to know when to escalate issues or seek additional expertise, and capable of making prudent decisions under pressure to safeguard service continuity.
- Ability to establish trust with users and colleagues through professionalism, calmness, and empathy.
- Commitment to adhering to standards, best practices, and risk controls even when requiring planned delays.
- Experience working under KPIs, SLAs, and agreed service levels.
