Job description
Role overview
This position is for a seasoned IT professional who can work independently with limited supervision while driving long-range objectives. The role acts as a trusted internal advisor, offering expert guidance to support operational delivery in IT infrastructure and systems design.
The core mission is to strengthen infrastructure and systems capabilities, lead the preparation of RFPs, oversee change request assessments, and review how current IT infrastructure and system components are performing against defined KPIs. Based on these reviews, the role must recommend practical improvements.
Infrastructure and systems design
- Stay current with emerging technologies and market trends, gather both business and technical inputs, evaluate the current ZATCA IT environment, identify design shortcomings, and produce detailed infrastructure and systems designs that fully address business needs.
- Run requirement-gathering workshops with stakeholders, translate findings into finalized RFP content for infrastructure and systems initiatives, and support vendor evaluation and selection using agreed criteria in coordination with relevant teams.
- Review incoming change requests for infrastructure and systems, analyze and prioritize them, and propose implementation schedules in coordination with the appropriate functions.
- Gather the inputs needed for IT risk assessment tied to new technology introductions, then work with IT Infrastructure & Networks Planning & Monitoring to build suitable mitigation plans.
- Receive periodic performance reports for ZATCA’s IT infrastructure and systems, assess results against KPI targets, and recommend enhancements to improve overall performance.
Organization and operations
- Work in line with all applicable policies, procedures, and standard operating practices to keep activities controlled and consistent.
- Assist in resolving escalated issues and provide support to junior team members so work can continue efficiently.
- Refer complex cases to the appropriate authority to ensure issues are properly resolved and closed.
- Carry out additional duties when requested.
People management
- Train junior employees on job tasks to help transfer knowledge where needed.
- Set direction, organize priorities, delegate responsibilities, and monitor the work of junior staff or direct reports.
- Support junior team members in carrying out their responsibilities in accordance with established policies and processes.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field is required. A master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a similar discipline is preferred.
Experience
At least 5 years of relevant experience are required.
