Role overview
This position is for a domain subject matter expert focused on logistics, travel, and transportation. The role is centered on bringing senior-level industry understanding to support the design, rollout, and refinement of solutions for US-based clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to make sure business workflows, technology initiatives, and operational approaches reflect current standards and proven practices in the industry.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the go-to source for knowledge on market shifts, regulations, and established practices across logistics, travel, and transportation.
- Review business needs and convert them into functional requirements that can guide technology and process enhancements.
- Support project teams with guidance on sector-specific issues and help identify areas where innovation and operational efficiency can be improved.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to plan, validate, and deploy solutions for complex operational scenarios.
- Train, mentor, and assist internal teams on domain processes, compliance expectations, and related business practices.
- Track changes in the industry and recommend timely updates to policies, procedures, and systems.
Experience and qualifications
The ideal professional should have at least 10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, travel, or transportation business domains. A proven background as a subject matter expert in IT services and solution delivery for these sectors is expected. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills are important. Familiarity with industry software and technology platforms will be an advantage. The role also calls for someone who can collaborate effectively in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
Preferred strengths
Prior project management exposure in logistics or transportation settings is preferred. Knowledge of regulatory structures and compliance obligations for global operations is also valuable. Experience supporting digital transformation efforts in travel and transportation would be an added benefit.
