IT Director - ERP Consulting Firm

About the Role

A leading global ERP consulting firm serving manufacturers in regulated industries for over three decades is seeking an IT Director to lead and transform its internal IT infrastructure. This is a strategic position focused on evolving the company's technology environment to support rapid growth and operational excellence, taking full charge of the IT systems and team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire corporate IT environment including infrastructure, tools, identity and access management, and endpoint security with full accountability for system performance and reliability.
• Evaluate existing IT operations, identify deficiencies, and develop a strategic plan to establish a stable and scalable IT foundation.
• Lead and reorganize the IT team by setting expectations, nurturing talent, and filling skill gaps as the organization grows.
• Oversee identity and access management ensuring appropriate user permissions across the organization.
• Handle endpoint management including procurement, configuration, security policies, and device lifecycle within a fully remote workforce.
• Collaborate with leadership to align IT security posture with business risk tolerances and industry standards.
• Create and maintain IT metrics and reports to provide leadership visibility while reducing need for their direct involvement in daily concerns.
• Minimize executive escalations by implementing clear processes, defined escalation paths, and empowering employees with self-service IT solutions.
• Streamline and optimize internal toolsets by eliminating redundancy, enhancing integration, and ensuring tools effectively support business workflows.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, change management procedures, and documentation standards that evolve with the company's growth.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in IT with at least 3 years managing corporate IT within professional services, consulting, or technology sectors.
• Proven ability to stabilize and scale IT operations in complex or fast-growing environments.
• Expertise in identity and access management tools such as Entra ID/Azure AD, Okta, endpoint management solutions like Intune or Jamf, and cloud productivity suites including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Experience leading and developing small IT teams with capabilities in performance management and organizational restructuring.
• Strong knowledge of IT security frameworks and practices; confident handling internal security responsibilities and compliance initiatives.
• Exceptional communication skills to bridge technical concepts with business needs and to effectively manage upward without excessive escalations.
• Highly autonomous, decisive, and comfortable operating in a dynamically evolving environment.

Preferred Experience and Benefits

• Background supporting ERP consulting or professional services environments with complex client-facing IT requirements.
• Familiarity with compliance regulations relevant to industries such as life sciences, food and beverage, or manufacturing.
• Experience with IT service management platforms like ServiceNow, Freshservice, or Jira Service Management.
