Captive Advisory Partners is seeking a resourceful IT & Cybersecurity Support Specialist to keep internal systems stable, secure, and well organized. This role suits someone who enjoys troubleshooting, improving security controls, and creating practical processes that reduce future issues.

With more than 75 years of combined experience, the team supports clients exploring alternative risk solutions, expanding existing risk strategies, or closing out current structures. CAP provides advisory and support services shaped around each client’s objectives and risk tolerance, with a focus on clear, practical guidance for captive and alternative insurance decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver everyday IT assistance such as account access help, troubleshooting, system configuration, and device setup.
- Support cybersecurity efforts, including access management, multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, and awareness around compliance.
- Administer user permissions and accounts across core business platforms.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to email delivery, devices, and application access.
- Keep internal documentation, standard operating procedures, and IT workflows current.
- Work with leadership to spot opportunities for stronger security practices and implement improvements.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes to make sure access is handled securely during transitions.
Skills and experience needed
- Background in IT support, systems administration, or a closely related position.
- Practical understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and risk awareness.
- Strong analytical thinking and a proactive approach to solving problems.
- Comfort working with remote teams and cloud-based tools.
- Solid documentation and organizational discipline.
- Clear, approachable communication style.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience supporting insurance software or platforms such as Applied Epic.
- Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Exposure to security or compliance frameworks.
Work arrangement
This is a remote contract position, with preference for candidates in the Austin, Texas area. The company may expand into occasional local in-person support as operations grow.
