About EIT RawMaterials

In the pursuit of a greener future, the demand for raw materials such as minerals and metals is projected to rise significantly over the next thirty years. Europe faces a vital challenge to maintain a reliable supply of these crucial materials. EIT RawMaterials addresses this challenge as an innovation hub under the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). With over 300 partners from industry, academia, and research institutions, it fosters long-lasting collaborations to create innovative solutions supporting Europe's rising raw material needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee relationships with external IT service vendors, ensuring top-notch service delivery aligned with business priorities.
  • Define and manage IT service scope, priorities, and expectations in coordination with organizational requirements.
  • Track and assess Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and supplier performance.
  • Administer IT infrastructure components such as cloud platforms, data backups, network systems, and website hosting.
  • Ensure IT services conform to company architecture frameworks and operational benchmarks.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IT requests and workplace technology services.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of end-user IT equipment — from purchase and deployment through maintenance, replacement, and disposal.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes regarding IT hardware provisions for employees.
  • Maintain workplace IT standards, promote cost efficiency, enhance user satisfaction, and enforce the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).
  • Keep a precise inventory of hardware and software assets, including ownership, lifecycle stages, and associated expenses.
  • Implement asset governance policies, documentation, and tracking systems.
  • Handle procurement, licensing, renewals, and utilization of software, seeking cost-saving opportunities and eliminating redundant licenses.
  • Ensure IT assets, software, and infrastructure comply with organizational policies, data protection regulations, and IT security standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the Data Protection Officer and Information Security Officer on cybersecurity and compliance matters.
  • Prepare and maintain audit-ready documentation and operational records.
  • Oversee management of IT contracts and service agreements, managing their entire lifecycle.
  • Lead IT budget planning efforts with focus on clarity and cost optimization.
  • Report on IT service performance, assets, vendors, and expenditures to aid strategic decisions.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience in IT operations, service management, and vendor coordination, including managing external IT providers.
  • Track record of collaborating with managed service providers to ensure quality, accountability, and business alignment.
  • Good knowledge of enterprise IT environments including Microsoft 365, cloud technologies, and workplace systems.
  • Capability to interpret business needs into structured IT service requests and oversee their execution by external providers.
  • Proficiency in managing IT assets, software licenses, and subscriptions with a strong emphasis on lifecycle management, cost efficiency, and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, expenditure tracking, and identifying avenues for cost reduction across IT services and contracts.
  • Strong vendor and contract management expertise, covering service agreements, renewals, and performance assessment.
  • Skilled in implementing organized processes and maintaining transparency around IT services, assets, and vendor operations.
  • Ability to evaluate IT service providers from a business perspective without requiring deep technical knowledge.
  • Experience coordinating IT projects involving multiple parties while ensuring effective communication and timely issue resolution.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and information security principles to maintain compliance across IT and vendor services.
  • Competence in maintaining detailed, audit-compliant documentation of IT assets, software, and service workflows.
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement and delivery of cost-effective IT services.
  • Proven skill in preparing clear documentation and guidance to support consistent, compliant use of IT systems.
  • Excellent communication abilities to bridge between business users and external IT providers.
