Role overview
Hayfin Capital Management LLP is seeking a driven Investor Relations Analyst to join its Partner Solutions Group in the U.S. team in Chicago. The role supports the coverage team responsible for institutional investor and consultant relationships across the fundraising cycle.
As part of a global alternatives platform with deep credit expertise, the team works with institutional investors across the Americas, Europe, and APAC. In this position, you will handle the operational and analytical work that helps coverage professionals stay prepared, maintain accurate relationship data, and monitor market intelligence. You will work closely with senior team members and gain direct exposure to investor coverage and fundraising activities.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate logistics before and after meetings with LPs and consultants, including follow-up tracking and preparation of briefing notes covering relationship history, investment context, and recent developments.
- Join external meetings, record detailed notes, and circulate action points quickly.
- Keep the U.S. coverage team’s CRM records current and clean, including relationship notes, pipeline status, and interaction history.
- Build and maintain segmented prospect lists while researching institutional targets such as public and corporate pensions, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, and family offices, using AI-enabled tools to speed up profiling.
- Monitor LP allocation patterns, fundraising competition, and consultant scoring activity, then turn findings into brief team updates.
- Assist with annual fundraising planning, conference preparation, and customized investment presentations prepared by the coverage team.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in alternatives fundraising, investor relations, or a closely related field.
- Prior exposure to U.S. institutional investors such as pensions, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, and/or investment consultants.
- Working understanding of alternative investment strategies, especially public and private credit.
- Practical experience using CRM platforms and prospect research tools, with a strong focus on data accuracy.
- Familiarity with AI tools, large language models, and AI-assisted research platforms, plus the judgment to use them without compromising accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information clearly.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-moving, collaborative setting.
- Professional demeanor, discretion, and good judgment in client-facing situations.
Benefits
- Annual base salary of $100,000.
- Eligibility for a yearly performance bonus, paid each December and prorated in 2026 depending on start date.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance from day one.
- 401(k) plan with employer match.
- Employer-paid life insurance and fully covered mental health support.
- 25 days of paid time off, plus company holidays.
