Job description
Role overview
The Investment Operations Officer will handle the day-to-day activity of investment funds, making sure transactions are processed accurately and on time. The position also supports investor onboarding, regulatory adherence, coordination with third-party service providers, financial reporting, bookkeeping, and audit readiness for the Investments Operations function.
Fund operations
- Support routine fund operations, including transaction processing, reconciliations, and upkeep of operational records.
- Ensure subscriptions, redemptions, and NAV calculations are completed correctly and within required timelines.
- Track fund cash movements, settlements, and reconciliation activities.
- Work with fund managers and administrators to keep workflows efficient and accurate.
- Help ensure funds follow Capital Market Authority (CMA) rules and internal procedures.
- Prepare and file regulatory submissions with the CMA and any other relevant authorities.
- Serve as a main point of coordination between fund managers, administrators, custodians, brokers, and other vendors.
- Maintain and improve operating procedures to support efficiency and reduce operational risk.
Administration, in-house and outsourced support
- Assist with onboarding new fund investors while ensuring KYC and AML requirements are met.
- Coordinate with outsourced fund administrators on accounting, NAV work, investor reporting, and compliance matters.
- Monitor daily fund transactions and keep records accurate and compliant.
- Support corporate actions, dividend processing, and other fund-related financial events.
- Keep operational documents complete, current, and properly organized.
- Assist with audit preparation by gathering fund records, reports, and supporting documentation.
Accounting and financial support
- Support daily financial activity and bookkeeping for the funds within the Investment Operations team.
- Help process payments, review invoices, and reconcile fund-related expenses.
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and regulatory reviews.
- Contribute to accurate financial reporting for fund operations alongside accounting teams.
- Assist with budgeting and cash flow management related to fund activity.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in fund operations, investment management, or financial services.
- Good understanding of CMA regulations and fund compliance obligations.
- Exposure to working with fund managers, administrators, custodians, and auditors.
- Comfort with fund accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Capacity to manage several tasks at once and work to regulatory deadlines.
- Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
