Job description

Role overview

The Investment Officer supports the processing of FEQ/PT, Bond/PT, and QE transactions for the relevant correspondent banks, making sure all activity follows Doha Bank requirements and applicable regulatory standards. The role also focuses on obtaining approvals without delay, maintaining transaction-volume records, and helping with MIS reporting to satisfy audit and procedural expectations. A key part of the position is closing out all pending correspondence-related cases quickly and accurately.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out the operational work assigned by the Section Head of Treasury & Investment Operations, while staying aligned with local regulations and the bank’s approved policies and procedures.
  • Collect, examine, and log all documents cleared by internal departments and stakeholders for FEQ/PT, Bond/PT, and QE activity, following the approval matrix and the Treasury & Investment Operations policy framework.
  • Update the pending cases register promptly with all FEQ/PT, Bond/PT, and QE transaction details so that each item can be tracked accurately.
  • Obtain rights issue applications from the relevant Treasury & Investment employees before proceeding with rights issue investments.
  • Check and process rights issue applications received from correspondent banks within the required SLA timelines.
  • Coordinate with investment dealers and stock brokers to secure confirmation of signed and executed deals through the approved communication channels.
  • Work with concerned employees to correct any issues or mismatches found in approvals or deal documentation.
  • Maintain both digital and physical records for all investment proposals received, after the assigned staff complete transaction accounting and before execution continues.
  • Support the Section Head in reviewing and investigating cases pending because of operational mistakes, in coordination with the relevant departments.
  • Help prepare regular and ad hoc reports on section activities to meet regulatory, audit, compliance, and procedural needs.
  • Perform daily checks and reconciliations of outstanding items linked to Doha Bank NOSTRO accounts against manual and system postings completed by the assigned staff.

Education and experience

Applicants should hold a university degree in Business, Banking, Finance, or another related field. A master’s degree in Management or a similar discipline is considered an added advantage. The role calls for 5 to 8 years of overall experience in financial services or banking, with work specifically related to treasury and investment settlements operations in a banking environment.

Additional information

This position is based in Doha, Qatar and is a full-time, on-site role. The job involves handling operational settlement work, compliance-driven processing, records management, reconciliation, and reporting in a regulated banking environment.
