Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is with a respected growth private equity investor that focuses on technology and tech-enabled businesses. The firm backs strong companies through both minority growth investments and selective control deals, working closely with founders and management teams to create lasting value.
They are seeking a senior investor to join the team in a newly established deal-lead position. The role has been created to expand execution capacity as deal activity increases and the firm advances its next phase of initiatives.
What the role involves
This is a senior, broad-based investing position with a high degree of independence. You will run transactions from early sourcing through to closing, and remain involved with portfolio companies after investment to support value creation. You will also work closely with the senior leadership team on new opportunities and broader firm priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Source and evaluate new growth and buyout opportunities while staying active in the market.
- Run transactions through due diligence and coordinate external advisers through to completion.
- Build, negotiate, and finalise term sheets and related deal terms.
- Prepare investment committee materials and drive the approval process.
- Join boards and work alongside founders and management on value creation initiatives.
- Support fund-level projects and strategic firm initiatives.
- Coach junior colleagues and contribute to the development of the broader team.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings approximately 6 to 8+ years of investing experience in growth equity or private equity, or a strong background in corporate advisory or investment banking with direct exposure to growth-stage transactions. You should have strong structuring ability across equity and more complex instruments, as well as a history of leading deals from start to finish. Board or board-observer experience would be an advantage.
A strong interest in technology and technology-enabled businesses is important, along with a preference for growth investing over traditional buyouts. The right person will be self-directed, comfortable working independently, and accountable for outcomes.
